The fluid bed dryer / cooler is divided into several compartments for a quasi plug flow of product. The dried and cooled product is extracted using a special conveyor which determines the product height in the fluid bed and therefore the residence time. Generally, the fluid bed consists of the drying sections (the first compartments at the product inlet) and a cooling section (at the product outlet).
